Ellies expects a drop in earnings

 ·19 Dec 2013

Ellies expects its earnings for the six months ended October 2013 to be as much as 43% lower than the same period in 2012, it announced.

In a trading statement posted on Wednesday (18 December) the electronics manufacturer said it expects its interim results to reflect a drop in headline earnings of between 38% and 43%.

The company said the drop was due to the fact that results for the period ended 31 October 2012 reflected The Eskom Project Power Save Program which was completed during that period – something which was not repeated in the period ended 31 October 2013.

The group’s interim results for the six months ended 31 October 2013 are expected to be published on or about 21 January 2014.
