MTN Business has launched Operator Connect – a tool that standardises and integrates Microsoft Teams communication throughout your organisation.

Operator Connect allows businesses to use the same Microsoft Teams user interface for internal and external communication while leveraging MTN’s favourable call rates to all destinations with no fixed monthly service charges.
This essentially transforms Microsoft Teams into a scalable, cloud-based telephony system with the same advanced call-handling features as on-premises PBX and UC platforms.
Operator Connect achieves this while removing the need for on-premises hardware – delivering a quick and easy way to integrate quality voice calling into Teams.
How it works
The solution assigns individual users or user groups a fixed voice number which enables them to make and receive voice calls from any location directly to their Microsoft Teams-enabled device.
Companies can select MTN from a list of voice operators through the Microsoft Teams Admin Center or by contacting MTN Business to assist with the onboarding.
Operator Connect then ensures companies experience reduced downtime by providing fully redundant connectivity using core network infrastructure between MTN’s voice network and the Microsoft Azure environment, while also providing 24/7/365 customer support.
