With our innovative vehicle subscription model, we’ve always challenged traditional barriers to vehicle ownership.
Now, by moving from a widespread dealer network to a direct showroom experience, we’re unlocking even greater value for our customers.
Why the Shift?
FutureRent’s decision to pivot from a dealer-driven model to a centralised showroom approach is rooted in one simple principle: creating a better experience for our customers.
“Our goal has always been to make vehicle ownership accessible, simple and affordable,” says Luke Henwood, CEO of FutureRent.
“This shift allows us to lower costs, provide seamless support and ensure every interaction reflects our vision of innovation and service excellence.”
By operating directly, FutureRent is able to:
- Offer Reduced Pricing: Eliminating middleman costs means more competitive vehicle
pricing for our customers. - Deliver Personalised Service: Customers now have direct access to FutureRent’s expert
team for advice, guidance and support – without delays. - Ensure a Seamless Experience: From application to driving off, the entire process is streamlined under one roof, saving time and enhancing customer confidence.
A Launch Day to Remember
The launch event showcased exactly what this new direction represents: energy, innovation and community.
Over 10 influencers broadcast the event live, sharing real-time updates with audiences across South Africa.
Customers explored the showroom, test-drove vehicles and many drove off in our new Volkswagen Polo stock — the perfect example of how quick and effortless the process has become.
The response to our online pre-approval system was equally impressive, with over 1,400 applications processed, a testament to the growing demand for flexible, affordable access to vehicles.
A Hub for More Than Mobility
The FutureRent showroom is more than just a car selection space, it’s a destination. Adding to the experience was the grand opening of the FutureRent Café, which became the heart of the event.
Customers, influencers and team members gathered over coffee, creating a space for connection and conversation.
“Every detail of this showroom, including the café, is intentional,” says Henwood.
“It’s not just about vehicles; it’s about the people who drive them. We’re creating spaces where customers feel supported, valued and empowered.”
Adding a touch of local flair, South African artist Aeron Claasen performed live, creating a memorable and inspiring atmosphere for everyone in attendance.
A Customer-First Future
The launch of the showroom is just the beginning of FutureRent’s commitment to innovation and customer-centric growth.
By moving to a direct model, we’re not only improving affordability and service but also redefining what customers can expect from their vehicle ownership journey.
“Our customers deserve better and this is how we deliver it,” Henwood concludes.
“The showroom is more than a milestone; it’s a promise. A promise to continue improving, innovating and putting our customers first every step of the way.”
The FutureRent Showroom in Century City is now open and the future of vehicle ownership has never looked brighter.
