DionWired has pointed to a “very encouraging” uptake in online sales since the group revamped its sitein November, adding that its inaugural “Black Friday” promotion was particularly successful.

In November, DionWired launched a new version of its online store. New features included online promotions, extended product ranges, TV-license authentication and free country-wide delivery.

In the spirit of Black Friday, as celebrated in the US as the busiest shopping day of the year, DionWired also launched a few promotions on its site on November 23.

Richard McLennan, e-commerce manager of DionWired told BusinessTech: “We are experiencing a very encouraging uptake in online sales since our e-commerce rollout. The website has been extremely busy over the last few weeks with customers taking advantage of our enticing deals and free delivery service.”

The launch of Black Friday, according to McLennan was particularly successful for DionWired.

“We saw a 120% increase in traffic on the website on the day, a 300% increase in orders for the day. The conversion rate doubled and the basket size increased by 20%. We were delighted by how our website stood up to the volume of traffic and orders and by the incredible response,” he said.
