Andy Baker joins G4S
Former Nashua Mobile CEO, Andy Baker, has been appointed as the regional president for Africa for global security company G4S. He succeeds Ian Nisbet.
G4S outsources security services to businesses – including electronic security, guarding and cash management. The company currently employs over 110,000 people in 30 countries across Africa.
Baker’s main focus as regional president will be to oversee the growth of the organisation into at least three new African countries in the next 12 months.
“This is an already substantial business, that is the largest private sector employer in Africa – but there is an opportunity to take it to a new level by focusing on opportunities to grow in our existing territories, as well as to launch our services in a number of new markets,” said Baker.
Speaking about G4S’ position in the market, Baker said that the company’s “proven operational expertise, high quality employees and a commitment to operational delivery” made G4S an obvious partner for companies looking to operate securely across Africa.
“The potential for growth is enormous,” concluded Baker.
