10 bursaries offered by companies and government in South Africa right now
South African companies and associations alike have opened bursaries and scholarships to fund tertiary studies for the 2023 academic year.
Bursaries South Africa, an online platform that provides students with updated information on bursaries and other funding opportunities in the country, said that August and September is the perfect times to apply for bursaries because students can use their mid-year results to secure funding for the upcoming year.
It is often the case, however, that a bursary or scholarship is limited to certain years of study or degrees. For example, the Thuthuka bursary offered by the South African Insititute of Chartered Accountants is only an option for students working towards that career.
The government is also encouraging skilled South Africans to work for state institutions; however, these can be geographically specific such as the Masakh’iSizwe Bursary offered by the Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Works available to students from universities in the province.
