MTN South Africa has appointed a new chief enterprise officer, as Lambo Kanagaratnam leaves to pursue other interests outside of the business.
The operator has appointed former Cisco SA Managing Director Alpheus Mangale in the role, effective from 1 December.
“Mangale is a seasoned ICT expert with over 18 years’ experience in the ICT, enterprises, and public sector industries spanning Europe, Middle East, and the Africa region,” MTN said.
He spent 15 years at Dimension Data where he led the group’s overall technology strategy, marketing function, as well as all strategic business alliances for, among others, Microsoft, HP, and EMC.
At Cisco he led all Cisco’s engagements across private and public sector markets and was responsible for the company’s overall country transformation strategy with service providers and government leaders.
“We are pleased to have someone of Mangale’s calibre in our management team and we are confident that his wealth of expertise and global exposure will stand MTN Business in good stead,” said MTN SA CEO Ahmed Farroukh.
