These are the best pre-owned cars in South Africa right now

Gumtree has announced the winners of its 2019 pre-owned auto awards, highlighting South Africa’s best used cars across every price range.

The winners were selected by a panel of judges based on factors such as interior quality, standard features, durability, performance, fuel and maintenance economy and of course resale value.

All the cars were 2017 models to reflect their pre-owned status.

A total of 20 automobile brands were nominated across 12 categories, with some clear standouts from both judges and South African voters.

The biggest winner was Volkswagen with eight wins out of 16 nominations across both the judges and peoples choice awards.

A full list of winners and the ‘people’s choice’ winners is outlined below.
