Business Talk — RMI CEO Ipeleng Mabusela discusses South African road safety ahead of the Easter holidays

In this Business Talk with Michael Avery interview, Ipeleng Mabusela unpacks the future of road safety in South Africa.

Mabusela is the CEO of The Retail Motor Industry Organisation (RMI) and boasts over 10 years of experience in business operations and development.

He assumed his current role as RMI CEO in 2024 and, prior to this, worked as Head of Operations and Strategy at the Automotive Industry Transformation Fund (AITF).

Mabusela also worked as a Management Consultant at Monitor Deloitte for two years, as an Operations Manager at HOERBIGER for over five years, and as an Engineer at Joy Global for over two years.

In addition to his current role, Mabusela is an alternate director on the Motor Industry Fund Administrators (MIFA) board, a member of the MIFA Audit and Risk Committee, and an Alternate Trustee on the Motor Industry Retirement Fund (MIRF).

He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of the Witwatersrand.

The interview
