Jasco strengthens focus on audio offering

 ·18 Jun 2012

In a strategic move to refocus its business offering into the video broadcast industry, Jasco Broadcast Solutions, a division of Jasco ICT Solutions, has altered its status from Avid audio distributor to reseller.

Broadcast Solutions remains the sole distributor and authorised reseller of Avid video solutions in Southern Africa. This move enables Jasco to strengthen its focus on its core video offering, and will be in effect as of 1 July 2012, the group said.

“We have been distributing Avid video solutions for more than 15 years, and Avid audio solutions for as long. Although we have invested time and money into the audio market, Jasco’s prime business focus has always been predominantly in the video industry.  It therefore made sense for us to strengthen our services and offering in this market, while still being able to service our existing and potential audio customers,” said Steve Lauter, sales manager for Jasco Broadcast Solutions.

With more than 400 editing suite and numerous integrated multi-user broadcast production systems implementations under their belts, the team at Jasco is well-positioned to continue to offer customers the very best levels of service along with value adds such as 24/7 support, project management; integration; on-air support and workflow consultancy services, the group said.

“As a specialist television broadcasting solutions company, video is where Jasco Broadcast Solutions’ strongest expertise lies, and it therefore made sense for us to focus our offerings around these solutions. We will still be an authorised reseller of Avid audio, but will no longer play the role of distributor for these solutions.”

“Although we will no longer distribute Avid Audio solutions, as a reseller we will still supply our end-user customers with the same audio products and their levels of service will not be affected,” Lauter finished.
