A proper case of urgency had been made by the Opposition to Urban Tolling Alliance (Outa), the High Court in Pretoria ruled on Wednesday.

“The matter will proceed,” Judge Bill Prinsloo said.

“The widespread public interest and the protesting… should persuade me to hear the matter.”

Prinsloo said lawyers for the SA National Road Agency Limited, National Treasury, the transport minister and the Gauteng transport MEC did not persuade him that the Outa application was an abuse of the court.
