Naspers in talks over Swiss online retailer: report
Naspers is believed to be in talks over the sale of Ricardo.ch, a Swiss-based online retailer, according to Bloomberg, citing people with knowledge of the situation.
The news agency said that the talks are at an early stage, however, Naspers is talking to various banks to advise on the deal.
Ricardo became part of Naspers in March 2008 as part of the group’s acquisition of Tradus.plc.
The Swiss firm operates a general marketplace, an automotive site, an online shopping mall, and Trendsales, a Danish online marketplace for fashion, with Bloomberg reporting a value of up to $500 million, again citing two sources.
The sale could attract bids from Swiss-based media groups Ringier AG and Tamedia AG,
Bloomberg’s sources said.
Naspers, meanwhile, declined to comment.
