Cell C is launching fibre-to-the-home in February
Cell C plans to launch its fibre-to-the-home service by the end of February, which will offer large data allowances at aggressive prices.
Speaking to Bruce Whitfield on CNBC’s MoneyMakers, Cell C CEO Jose dos Santos said they will launch FTTH products within the next 4 to 5 weeks, with innovative pricing.
“We are going to come out with some very aggressive fibre-to-the-home packages,” said dos Santos.
He said the days of 10GB, 20GB, or 30GB data packages are over. “We are looking at packages of 200GB and 300GB,” he said.
Dos Santos said South Africans are looking for high broadband speeds, fuelled by video streaming services like ShowMax and Netflix.
He said that while consumers want high speeds and large data allowances, they are tired of paying exorbitant prices for these services.
Cell C, said dos Santos, will address this with its FTTH products.
