Election results after 90% vote count
It’s the second day of vote counting for the 2016 Local Government Elections and about 90% of the votes have been counted.
The results show that the ANC is leading with 54.20%, followed by the DA with 26.50% and the EFF at 7.95%.
The Northern Cape was the first province to finish its counting last night, with the ANC leading the votes at 58.57%, the DA at 25.07% and the EFF has 8.71% of the votes.
In Gauteng, the ANC stood at 45.61%, while the DA at 38.00% and the EFF has 11.01% of the votes.
In the Eastern Cape, the ANC is leading with 67.16%, the DA is at 17.45% and the EFF is at 5.09%.
The ANC is leading in KwaZulu-Natal with 56.92%, while the IFP has 21.99% and the DA is at 13.29%.
In the Free State, the ANC has 64.54% of the votes, the DA stood at 19.73% and the EFF was at 9.90%.
In Mpumalanga, the ANC has 70.97%, while the DA is at 12.89% and the EFF has 9.43% of the votes.
In Limpopo, the ANC has 68.89% of the votes, the EFF has 16.61% and the DA has 8% of the votes.
The ANC is leading in the North West with 59.67% of the votes, while the EFF has 15.53% and the DA has 14.34%.
In the Western Cape, the DA has 63.63%, the ANC stood at 26.61% and the EFF has 2.66% of the votes.
