Xpanse tries its hand at IT
Xpanse Investments has acquired a 12% equity stake in Khauleza IT Solutions to help the group grow a national network of SMMEs.
The current owners will reduce their ownership accordingly in relation to this transaction, Xpanse said.
Xpanse will manage equipment warrantees on behalf of customers in addition to rendering on-site remedial maintenance services for most leading computer, printer and peripheral brands.
Since its inception in 2003, Xpanse has mainly participated in mining, advertising, maritime transport and logistics.
“We’ve long been a believer in the unique linkages between information communication technology and logistics. Partnering upstream with service and maintenance companies in ICT is even more important today in the dynamic marketplace in which we compete,” said Xpanse CEO, Innocentia Motau.
Motau has also been appointed director to the board of Khauleza IT Solutions.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to enhance Xpanse’s industry-leading portfolio of investments in maritime transport and logistics, while also strategically entering the ICT market,” Motau said.
With a nationwide footprint, Khauleza IT Solutions manages end-to-end architecture, deployment and ongoing management of switching centres or data centres. It provides central support and assistance to customers and their IT managers with 24/7 service desk availability – ranging from catch and dispatch through to level 2 remote remedial support services.
“We look forward to working with Khauleza, the company’s management team, and all of its shareholders, including Mustek Limited, to build on years of success and take Khauleza IT Solutions to greater heights” Motau added.
