Numara Software SA awaits acquisition clarification
US business service management (BSM) group, BMC Software, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Numara Software, a provider of integrated IT management solutions for the mid-market.
A spokesperson for Numara Software South Africa told BusinessTech that company was awaiting the outcome of meetings taking place at its parent company in Florida.
“We will be in a better position to comment once we have feedback from Tampa, Florida,” said Vernon Vlok, business development manager. “We don’t want to jump the gun.”
Vlok pointed out that Onsoft Pty Ltd is the holding company for Numara Software South Africa and the appointed Agent for Africa. “We are not part of the Numara Software group and trade independently from them”.
Numara Software provides solutions that address critical IT and support functions, such as customer service desk, IT help desk, asset management, software patch and deployment, and network monitoring.
Numara currently has more than 13,000 customers worldwide for its service and asset management solutions and more than 55,000 customer sites worldwide.
According to BMC, the acquisition would further accelerate the growth of BMC’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business, as well as giving customers access to IT management capabilities geared to their unique requirements, all from a single industry leader.
The acquisition would create a broad portfolio of IT management solutions and services with flexibility and choice for mid-sized organisations that typically have 500 to 5,000 employees.
BMC would offer Numara’s widely installed Track-It! help desk and asset management solution for smaller organisations.
The transaction, which is expected to close during BMC’s fiscal fourth quarter, is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
