Vodacom announced in a press release on Thursday, 9 October 2014 that it had reached an exclusive partnership deal with music streaming service Deezer.

To celebrate the launch, Vodacom said it will be giving its data customers one month’s free subscription to Deezer’s full Premium+ service.

Usually, Deezer’s free trial of Premium+ is 15 days, and then R59.99 per month after the trial expires.

Deezer also offers a free tier which lets users stream music from their desktop web browser, but with ads.

Vodacom said it has 17 million active data subscribers on its network.

To take up the one month free Premium+ subscription, Vodacom subscribers need to go to http://live.vodafone.com/deezer and register for the service.

Normal data charges will apply and the one month free offer is available from 9 October.

Once the free subscription is completed, the service will then be billed at R59.99 per month, or customers can choose to cancel the service at no cost. Contract customers will be billed directly to their Vodacom accounts.

Prepaid users will need to top up with the equivalent amount of airtime.

In the near future Deezer will be included as a value added service in some Vodacom packages as well as being bundled with data.
