The Next Era of Banking: What’s Next on GoTyme Bank’s New App
We’ve launched our new GoTyme Bank app with a strong, secure foundation, and we’re just getting started.
Some features you may be used to (or excited about) aren’t available yet, and that’s intentional. Rather than releasing everything at once, we’re rolling out features in phases to make sure each one meets our standards for security, reliability, and performance.
Why We’re Rolling Features Out in Phases
Building a great banking app isn’t just about speed, it’s about stability. By releasing features gradually, we’re able to:
- Thoroughly test each feature in real-world conditions
- Deliver a smooth, stable experience without disruptions
- Improve features based on real customer feedback
This approach helps us avoid issues that can come with “big bang” releases, while still improving the app regularly.
What You Can Do in the App Right Now
The new GoTyme Bank app already has most of the core features for your everyday banking needs. This is the foundation we’ll continue to build on, and it’s designed to support new features as they’re released.

- Tap to pay activation
- Mobile vouchers (lotto, airtime and data)

- Google Pay
- Deposit and withdraw cash with your debit card at retail partner till points
- Withdraw cash at any ATM in South Africa for R10/R1000

These features will be released in the coming weeks and months without compromising on performance or security:

- Support for Huawei devices (for now, customers can access their account through the TymeBank app)

We’re making it easier to get rewarded for your savings goals. From 1 March 2026, your
GoalSave automatically qualifies for 10% when you give 10 days’ notice to withdraw – but only if you use the new GoTyme Bank app to withdraw and you have not made partial withdrawals from that savings goal before.
How You’ll Know When New Features Are Live
We’ll notify you when new features become available through:
