Sho’t Left Travel Week 2026: everything you need to know

 ·11 Sep 2026

What it is

Sho’t Left Travel Week is South African Tourism’s annual domestic travel sale, running this year as the Great South African Sale.

It is the centrepiece of Travel Month, the national drive to get South Africans travelling their own country and to put local travel businesses in front of the domestic travellers.

When it runs: 7 to 13 September 2026.

What’s on offer

Deals of up to 50% off, listed by participating accommodation providers, tour operators, attractions, transport partners and experience operators across All nine provinces.

Deals are live at www.shotleft.co.za.

How the booking works

You can book now and travel later, within the dates each deal allows. Bookings are made with the participating business.

Who it’s for

Anyone travelling domestically. From solo travellers to couples, families, groups of friends, and the large share of South Africans who have never treated their own country as a holiday destination.

How to shop it

Decide the rough shape of your trip first: which kind of trip, roughly when, roughly what you can spend.

Then read the travel-by dates and terms on the deal you like, and book directly with the business.

Why it matters beyond the discount

Domestic travel money stays in the local economy, and supports small, owner-run operators like guesthouses, guides, transfer services and township tour businesses.

Strong domestic bookings is a meaningful year for many of them.

The Great South African Sale runs 7–13 September 2026 with up to 50% off travel deals in across all nine provinces.
