Icasa to get new CEO: report
Icasa is expected to name Pakamile Pongwana as its new CEO to replace outgoing chief Themba Dlamini, it was reported on Tuesday.
Icasa spokesperson, Paseka Maleka, told BusinessTech that no official communication has been shared with Icasa staff regarding an appointment to the position.
However, according to TechCentral, two sources have indicated that Pongwana, a former Vodacom executive dealing with regulatory affairs, will take the position.
“Rumours have been floating around for a while now, but there has been no official communication to Icasa staff regarding the appointment. As such Icasa cannot confirm the reports,” Maleka said.
Pongwana is expected to take up the position from November 1st, according to the report.
Pongwana served as the managing executive of regulatory affairs at Vodacom from 2005 to June 2013.
He previously served as Deputy Director General: Telecommunications Policy for the Department of Communications and holds a Master of Business Leadership and Organizational Leadership from UNISA, as well as a Bachelor of Accounting Science from Walter Sisulu University.
