 ·26 Oct 2012

JSE-listed Adapt IT Group has appointed Craig Chambers as its chairman due to the statutory resignation of Dr Bernard Ravno, who has served on the Adapt IT board since 2003 and has been chairman since 2009.

Adapt IT Group CEO, Sbu Shabalala says the company sincerely appreciates Dr Ravno’s input over the past nine years. “Dr Ravno has over 31 years of experience in the sugar industry and has been an unwavering support during the group’s formative years.  We are grateful to him and wish him well.”

Adapt IT non-executive lead director since 2011, Craig Chambers, will replace Dr Ravno with immediate effect and brings with him over 15 years of financial management experience, the group said.

With its stated organic and acquisitive growth plans, Chambers said he sees his new role as a privilege and exciting venture.  “I have observed the Adapt IT management team do a sterling job over the past 18 months, implementing a strategy to acquire businesses and ensure solid organic growth.  I look forward to being an active part of its plans to grow into a significant force within the local IT industry.”

Further changes to the board, include the appointment of Thembisa Dingaan as the chair of Remuneration and Nominations committee.  Dingaan was first appointed to the board in May 2011 as an independent non-executive director.
