Datatec shifts executive roles

 ·15 Jan 2014

Listed ICT firm Datatec has appointed a former Standard Bank executive as new chief financial officer as it shuffles executive roles.

The company announced that it has shifted current CFO, Rob Evans to the position of group operations director – effective 1 June 2014.

Evans’ responsibilities as operations director will include business process improvement, internal auditing, post-acquisition integration oversight and internal corporate development.

The role of CFO will subsequently be filled by Jurgens Myburgh, who will take up the position from 1 May 2014.

Myburgh, a chartered accountant, will join Datatec from the Standard Bank Group, where he served in leadership roles in the bank’s mergers and acquisitions department.

Datatec opted not to expand on Myburgh’s roles and responsibilities at the company.

“The addition of this new Board role reflects the growing scale and complexity of the Group’s operations,” the company said in a statement.
