Warning over FlySafair and Lift delays

Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) has alerted passengers of an ongoing global systems issue affecting FlySafair and LIFT airlines, causing linger check-in times.
ACSA said the technical issue is impacting the airlines’ check-in systems and causing delays.
The issue started on Saturday, 15 March, and is ongoing, with no indication of a resolution time.
As a result, the group is urging passengers to arrive for their flights earlier than they may have planned to ensure enough time to check-in.
FlySafair and LIFT passengers on regional flights should arrive at least 3 hours before departure, while domestic fliers should arrive at least 2 hours before departure.
“Technicians from the airlines and their service providers are actively working to resolve the matter. However, there is currently no estimated time for full resolution,” it said.
ACSA said that the airlines are currently working off backups to keep flights scheduled, but this has led to more time at check-in.
“As a result, passengers travelling with FlySafair and LIFT airlines are experiencing longer-than-usual check-in processing times and long queues at check-in counters.”
ACSA said that passengers should keep up to date with the latest developments either through the ACSA mobile app or by keeping tabs on communication from FlySafair and LIFT airlines directly.
