DVT banks R250 million
South African software company DVT is set to exceed R250 million in revenue for its current financial year.
DVT is a level 4 BBBEE custom-packaged software solutions provider, which offers software development, data, management and analysis services for enterprise and business in South Africa.
The core software development platforms at the company are .Net, Java and Mendix.
DVT founder and CEO, Chris Wilkins attributes the company’s revenue boost to “unprecedented” growth over the past two years.
Wilkins added that the company’s success is largely a result of sticking to its core business of software development and related services since inception.
“Our focus on an ownership-based business model coupled with hiring the right staff has been instrumental in this success,” he said.
Although the company’s margins have been under pressure in the industry as a whole, DVT has slowly improved the circumstances within which it operates, thereby negating some of the negative effects of the external market forces, Wilkins said.
As part of the company’s long-term drive to grow ICT skills in the country, Wilkins said, DVT also has a well established internship programme through which interns are managed, mentored and exposed to the right variety of projects.
The programme currently provides internships to more than 60 graduates and entry-level professionals, and will continue to increase this number each year, Wilkins said.
