Bradwin Roper is the CEO of FNB Connect South Africa – a leading South African ISP that operates as a key business unit within FirstRand Bank Limited.
He previously worked at Unilever for over six years, and was then appointed as the national manager of strategy, planning, and costing for a leading South African bank.
Roper then joined the FNB ecosystem as the head of sales for loans in 2012. He has since taken on multiple senior positions at FNB, before finally becoming the CEO of FNB Connect in May 2020.
In this conference session, Roper meets with Michael Avery to discuss the democratisation of data and mobile devices in South Africa.
They talk about the challenges involved in giving all South Africans access to smartphones and the reasons for South Africa’s slow connectivity adoption rate.
Roper then highlights how FNB Connect gives more South Africans access to mobile devices and data through its affordable products and packages.
He concludes by discussing how local FinTech companies can help to increase access to data and mobile devices in South Africa.
