Best e-commerce websites in South Africa

Yuppiechef has been named the best e-commerce site in South Africa for 2013 at the uAfrica eCommerce Conference held in Sandton on Wednesday (11 September).
Runners up were Takealot.com and Simplicity Online.
The e-commerce awards were handed out to e-commerce sites which made the short-list of 20 companies who received the most votes in a uAfrica survey which drew over 65,000 responses.
The short-list was then investigated in a “mystery shopper” format to determine the winners.
Out of the survey, Kalahari.co was voted as respondents’ favourite website – with Bidorbuy and Takealot.com voted second and third amongst South Africans.
Apart from winning the “most coveted” award, Yuppiechef also won the award for best shopping process.
