Dina Pule’s day of reckoning
Dina Pule, the former minister of communications, is set to hear her fate later today (7 August) regarding allegations of corruption and nepotism.
The controversial figure meanwhile has been appointed to the Portfolio Committee on Transport (PCT) for the African National Congress (ANC).
This is according to the Democratic Alliance’s shadow Transport Minister, Ian Ollis and confirmed by the PCT.
Joint Committee on Ethics and Members’ Interests has called a briefing in Parliament to give its findings on allegations that Pule’s partner, Phosane Mngqibisa, benefitted from an ICT Indaba which was organised by her Department in 2012.
Pule was embroiled in a number of scandals over the last year, including accusations of cronyism and maladministration, before she was dumped in early July, as part of a cabinet reshuffle.
Pule is also currently being investigated by the Hawks following corruption charges laid by the DA.
