Gijima appoints sales head
Gijima, the listed ICT company, has appointed Bill Hoggarth as its new chief sales officer effective 1 May 2014.
Hoggarth has joined Gijima from Dataways, a Business Intelligence product and services company he co-founded in 2012.
The new sales head has lived and worked in several countries across Europe, operating in various roles at companies including Business Objects, Siebel and SAS.
In March, Gijima CEO, Eileen Wilton said the IT group is six months into a three year turnaround strategy.
Gijima reported a decline in revenue from continuing operations to R741 million, from R911 million in 2012; however, the group narrowed its operating loss to R17.7 million, from R123 million before.
Gijima counts 14 of the top 25 JSE listed companies as clients, with Wilton stating that the group has retained eight out of nine customers in terms of renewals during the reporting period.
Wilton said that Gijima’s order book was at just under R4 billion, with the pipeline at R7 billion with a large number of tenders submitted to which the group is awaiting award.
