Howzit MSN looks for love with dating site

Howzit MSN South Africa has launched an online dating service, following a soft launch at the beginning of December.

Published by Kagiso Media, Howzit MSN is the South African associate of Microsoft’s MSN family of Internet services, which attracts more than 3.14 million unique users around the world each month.

The group says it already has more than 500,000 members from around the world on the database.

The new service is based on technology from The Dating Lab, which is a provider of specialist, branded dating services to a wide range of digital publications around the world, including The Telegraph and The Times in the UK and the Mail & Guardian in South Africa.

Steven van Hemert, executive producer at MSN South Africa said: “Adding a new dating service to our portfolio falls in line with our strategy of giving users everything they need in one convenient Web environment. With this offering, our users have access to one of the largest dating databases in the country while having the comfort of knowing that the dating environment is safe and secure.”

Members can create free profiles, search for matches, and receive messages from other subscribers. Some other benefits of the service include a two-way matching system, as well as easy browsing of the photo gallery and profiles.

“Once they’re comfortable, members can get access to more features for a modest subscription, including full access to the safe and private messaging service,” MSN said.
