A look at the new R4 billion Oceans Mall being built in Umhlanga
Development is currently underway on the R4 billion mixed-use Oceans mall development in Umhlanga. The development comprises of a world-class shopping mall with over 100 stores, permanent residences, as well as a new Radisson Blu hotel.
Two of Africa’s largest state-of-the-art retailers anchor the mall, while it also promises to offer a variety of speciality stores and including international superbrands, such as Burberry, Versace, Armani and Paul Smith. Apart from retail, the mall will provide a range of leisure and entertainment activities such as Virgin Active, Cinemas, Snow Park and 20 world class restaurants.
Oceans also features a 209 room hotel, 40 deluxe long-stay apartments and 2 penthouses. It also boasts an 800-seater, state of the art conferencing facility that includes 6 break away rooms for stylish meeting venues.
The development will also comprise of two residence towers, consisting of 444 apartments and penthouses. The towers are designed so that every apartment enjoys a stunning view, so as to enhance their appeal and long-term value.
Construction on the development is expected to be completed by June 2020.
Oceans is one of several multi-million rand developments currently taking place in Umhlanga, with KPMG recently announcing that it would be opening a R220 million head office in the region, alongside the R1.5 billion Umgeni Deco & Lifestyle Park, The R1 billion Park Square, and the R660 million Arch development.
