A look at the R80 million penthouse at Joburg’s ‘beach’ development

The penthouse at Balwin Properties’ Munyaka development in Waterfall City, Johannesburg, is on sale for R80 million.

The R10 billion development, which completed its first phase in 2023, is home to one of the biggest crystal-clear lagoons in the southern hemisphere.

The 3-hectare (30,000 square metres) clear-water lagoon sits at the centre of the project, which Balwin described as bringing “Hollywood-style beach living to Johannesburg”.

It is double the size of the clear-water lagoon the developer built at The Blyde in Pretoria.

The fully furnished signature penthouse is on the fifth floor and has views of the crystal lagoon, beach, Sandton and Waterfall City.

Balwin Properties said that the penthouse comes with the following:
