Electronics retailer Teljoy, has appointed Rami Sassen as the new chief executive officer.
Sassen takes over from Rob Katzen, who remains a director and shareholder of the company.
Teljoy, founded by Theo Rutstein in 1969, is notably known as the first company to supply TV sets commercially in South Africa.
The company has since expanded its service to a rent-to-own offering for home appliances and electronics.
Sassen is a qualified CA who was employed by SA Taxi a 100% owned subsidiary of Transaction Capital. He was previously the CEO of Taximart, head of sales of SA Taxi and was most recently responsible for the procurement, fraud and compliance departments for SA Taxi Protect.
Teljoy’s product range includes most household appliances and electronics like televisions, fridges, washing machines, and electronics.
Additional services include an appliance maintenance plan and EasyFix, which offers cash repairs to all appliances, electronics and cellphones.
